The LGA 2066 socket is compatible with the latest Intel Core X-Series Processors with up to 18 cores, over 44 PCI Express® lanes, and 165-watt thermal design power (TDP). Those specs require serious power, especially if you're overclocking, so the Prime X299 Edition 30 is equipped with a premium power solution that includes 16 power stages that line up neatly along the top edge of the PCB. The power stages are cooled well enough to sustain a staggering up to 544 W output, which is more than enough to overclock 18-core CPUs into truly extreme territory.
Fully loaded takes on a new meaning when you have over 44 PCI Express lanes stemming from the CPU. Those lanes can be split in an x16/x16/x8 configuration spanning the board's trio of PCIe x16 slots, allowing you to load up on GPUs to accelerate an increasingly diverse array of work.

High-speed external storage is required for many workstations, so Prime X299 Edition 30 integrates Thunderbolt™ 3 with up to 40Gbps of aggregate interface bandwidth. The rear I/O panel has dual Thunderbolt 3 Type-C ports that support data in addition to DisplayPort 1.4 output. Up to six devices can be daisy-chained from one Thunderbolt 3 port, with the provision of up to 15W of power for fast-charging devices connected in this way.
